Did you know your RMH membership supports retailers’ representation in both the State and County levels in government, in business and in the community?  RMH members receive: 

  • LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ADVOCACY AT THE FEDERAL, STATE AND COUNTY LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT- RMH is the voice of the retail industry by representing our members at meeting with elected officials, working with the community and government entities, reviewing legislation, providing testimony on issues that may have an impact on your operations and more.
  • E-BLAST ALERTS AND UPDATES ON LAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS, MEASURES AND MORE- Members receive E-Blast Alerts and Updates on measures introduced or passed that may have an impact on your operations that include but are not limited to issues on taxation, labor and employment laws, safety & loss prevention, to name a few.
  • NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES RMH events encourages members to socialize, meet new contacts and reconnect with people they may know. These opportunities include the Networking Event Mixers, Annual Conference & Ho`okela Awards Luncheon, Educational Seminars, Annual Membership Meeting, and a Golf Tournament.
    • NETWORKING MIXERS – Open to RMH Members only and their guests.  Throughout the year, RMH hosts casual networking event experiences that that are held at new, trendy or it spots throughout the islands.   
    • ANNUAL GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING – Open to RMH Members only and their guests.  RMH members come together in May to network, be updated on what RMH has been working on and upcoming events, and hear from speakers on retail industry related topics.
    • ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT – Open to all who are interested in a day of networking, exercise and a little competition.  Every team goes home with a prize and golfers can experience locally made refreshments at many of the holes.
    • ANNUAL CONFERENCE & HO`OKELA AWARDS LUNCHEON –The Annual Conference is open to all and includes seminars in the morning that focuses on retail industry related topics and a mini tradeshow. The Ho`okela Awards recognizes the best retailers and retail stores throughout the State.  
  • MONTHLY RMH E-NEWSLETTER – Up to date information on things trending and impacting the Retail industry. This includes Federal, State and County updates, RMH upcoming events, Movers & Shakers in the industry and more.
  • EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS - Seminars address current, trending and possible future retail concerns that include but are not limited to loss prevention, customer service, financial and operations.  RMH showcases Educational Seminars throughout the year and in conjunction with the Annual Conference and Awards Program.
  • INDUSTRY SPECIFIC COMMITTEES THAT MEMBERS CAN JOIN:
    • FUTURE OF RETAIL MERCHANTS – Open to energetic 21-39 year old's in the retail industry that have innovative suggestions and outside of the box ideas that are new and non-traditional that will help refresh and move the RMH forward. This includes round table networking, guest speakers on topics that are of interest to the group and more. Committee meets on the 3rd Friday of the month at 3:00 pm at Pearlridge Center.
    • GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE - Extremely active during the Legislative session - January to May. The Committee assists in the legislative advocacy of RMH. Meets during the legislative session.
    • HUMAN RESOURCE & EDUCATION COMMITTEE - Provides a forum for round table networking discussions on sharing best practices and issues that companies are currently facing; guest speakers on topics that are of interest to the group and planning educational seminars.  This committee meets on the 2nd Friday of the month at 9:00 am.
    • MEMBERSHIP ACQUISITION & DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE - Builds membership, and plans and coordinates social events to encourage networking and interaction among existing members. Innovative ideas, outside of the box thinking and fun is welcomed. Committee meets on the 3rd Wednesdays of the Month at 9:00 am at the Nella Media Group Offices in Chinatown.
    • SECURITY COMMITTEE - Open to retailers, those in retail loss prevention and enforcement agencies.   The Committee has monthly speakers on security related topics, provides networking opportunities with Federal, State and County law enforcement agency partners and apprises the retail loss prevention professionals about security concerns and shares knowledge, best practices and expertise.  Committee meets on the 3rd Thursdays of the month at 10:30 am at various locations.

    • AXIA PAYMENTS – Offering RMH members yearly audit at NO cost & will help facilitate any vulnerabilities that need a resolution in addition to passing on all fixed (Interchange) fees at cost.

  • HAWAII ORGANIZED RETAIL CRIME ALLIANCE (HIORCA) WEBSITE - Open only to law enforcement and retail loss prevention investigators in an effort to share cross jurisdictional information to identify, disrupt, and apprehend Organized Retail Crime crews
  • NATIONAL RETAIL FEDERATION – For Hawaii (single-state) retail companies only, membership in RMH includes complimentary membership in the National Retail Federation.
